Create a Most Important Goal (MIG)

To create a Most Important Goal go to My Teams and select the team > Setup > Most Important Goals > Create Most Important Goals > fill in Basic Info > Set Goal adjustment > Connect to other Most important goals in Alignment > Save > Done ✅

Basic info (Step 5)

  • Title: Choose the name of your Most Important Goal.

  • Description: Add a description. The description is an additional explanation for the team to better understand the purpose of the Most Important Goal.

  • Activation date: Select the date for which you want the Most Important Goal to be activated. This is also the date from which the Most Important Goal will be visible on your Team Overview page.

  • Interval: Select the interval for which you want to measure the Most Important Goal. The options are weekly, monthly and quarterly.

  • Start date/End date: Select the start date from which the Most Important Goal will take effect and the end date at which it ends. Most Important Goals are usually set up with a 12 month time horizon. Start dates can only be set from the selected Activation date.

  • Preferred outcome: Select the preferred outcome for you Most Important Goal. The options are between "High is preferred" and "Low is preferred". This indicates if the Most Important Goal is measuring towards a high or a low value.

  • Unit: Select the unit in which the Most Important Goal is to be measured. an example of units could be percent, number, etc.

  • Adjusted y-axis (optional): Adjust the the y-axis after preferred view of the goal curve.

Goal adjustment (Step 6)

  • Goal: Fill in the start value and the end value of your Most Important Goal under "Interpolation helper". Use the button "Interpolate" to generate an average value from start to end. Use the detailed table underneath to adjust the goal manually.

  • Historic reference goal: Add historical data from the previous period (optional).

  • Actuals: When you enter a new week/Month/Quarter, fill in the outcome for the previous period.

Alignment (Step 7)

  • Most Important Goal Alignment focuses on the key goals for the entire organization and how they connect to the company's top goals. A Most Important Goal can be linked to other goals within the same team. However, it cannot be linked to a goal from a lower-level team.

  • Alignment: Select Alignment to choose if this Most Important Goal supports another Most Important Goal in the team.

  • Choose Most Important Goal by clicking on the " + Add" button to the right.
