Introduction
Howwe's integration with Microsoft Outlook helps users stay on top of strategic work by syncing key activities directly into their personal Outlook calendars. This ensures important commitments are prioritized—without requiring users to manually add them.
To make the process seamless for our customers, Howwe handles the technical setup and consent configuration. All you need is to provide a suitable contact person within your organization who has the authority to approve Microsoft integrations (typically someone in IT or with Global Admin rights in Azure).
Step-by-Step Guide
✅ Step 1: Provide a Contact with Admin Rights
For Howwe to begin the integration process, your company must provide:
A contact person who has Global Admin rights in Microsoft Azure, typically in your IT department.
This person will receive a secure consent link generated by Howwe.
What you do:
Identify and confirm the IT contact.
Send their name and email to your Howwe representative
🔒 Only this person will need to approve the integration by clicking the consent link. No further action is needed from your side for this step.
✅ Step 2: Consent and Setup by Howwe
Once the IT contact is assigned:
Howwe generates and sends a Microsoft consent link.
The IT admin approves the permissions for:
Reading and writing calendar events
Signing in and reading user profiles
Accessing user details for calendar sync
After approval, Howwe retrieves your Tenant ID and configures the backend setup via Microsoft Graph API.
✅ You will be notified once the system is ready to sync events from Howwe to Outlook.
✅ Step 3: How the Calendar Sync Works
Howwe creates Outlook events based on your Key Activities using your Microsoft
UserPrincipalName
.Calendar events are:
Synced automatically
Tied to Howwe’s internal IDs
Updated or removed if changes are made in Howwe
Events not created by Howwe are never accessed or modified.
